'Das Autos' They are back - Part 2

More than two years ago in February 2013. We published the blog about the new,  than,  Golf.

We absolutely loved them. Then "R" rolled out and we even loved it more. However between them there was/is a trim called "GTD".

Yes the Volkswagon Diesel Engine and yes you have sensed it right that this article is about emissions test and all that theory in media now days.

But problem is just not limited to VW,  the list of manufacturers is worryingly long and includes other big names.

Now the question is what can government do? Some European and Non-European countries have already banned the cars. In the UK alone, 1.1 million cars are effected. Though VW has announced that it will solve the problem in every car by the end of 2016, given that it starts to recall in January 2016.

However there are some economic and psychological impacts. For example the value of car has fallen due to the human nature of thinking it as a defected piece or the owners see it has useless piece of metal they own.

Will the road tax go up? We don't know yet.

What should I do? The first thing we recommend is to visit the VW website. They have put in some steps in place and your initial consultation will start.

We have been thinking about other possible policies government can implement. One of them is to increase the tax on diesel, as a fuel.

Even though the price per barrel went below $27 and as a result the prices of petrol and diesel fell.

Increase the tax on diesel, decrease the demand for diesel cars. We know that it's not straight "just"  increase and decrease.

Or we can have millionaires like US and encourage them to buy big V8s. Just prove that in US only 5% of cars are diesel.
